For Kings Island guests who can't wait to sample the latest food offerings each season, 2018 is going to be a great year. Following the introduction of Soak City's Island Smokehouse in 2017, the park has added a new executive chef to the culinary team as well as a new restaurant, Coney Bar B Que.
Kings Island Introduces New Executive Chef
James Major, a two-time winner of the Food Network's Chopped reality TV cooking contest and contender on Alton Brown's Cutthroat Kitchen, has taken on the executive chef position at Kings Island.
An Ohio native and U.S. Navy veteran, Chef Major previously served as executive chef at Great American Ball Park and Funky's Catering. He is a certified Pro Chef II from the Culinary Institute of America.
New Coney Bar B Que restaurant features all types of barbecue, from the Carolinas down to Texas
Coney Bar B Que has joined Kings Island’s restaurant lineup this year. This new fast-casual dining location offers various barbecue favorites including smoked St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork, rotisserie chicken and Queen City Sausage along with a fresh selection of side dishes.
Located in the Coney Mall area of the park, next to the Scrambler, the restaurant’s architecture and theming pay tribute to the early days of Kings Island and Coney Mall. Covered outdoor seating areas feature views of Coney Mall and the Grand Carousel.
Coney Bar B Que is included in the park’s dining plans.
