General Park Questions

Save big on the price of screams! The best deals on Kings Island general admission tickets are available online. The ordering process online is quick and easy. After making your purchase, simply download and print your tickets. 

Kings Island does not offer a non-rider admission as the park is one-price admission.

Admission tickets and Season Passes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for any reason after the order transaction is complete through any transaction channel. This includes weather related events. We do not issue rain checks. Please check local weather conditions prior to planning your visit.

Children under the age of 3 do not require an admission ticket.

You can have your tickets printed for you at Ticket Services located to the left of the Front Gate. You will need to present your order confirmation number and a photo ID. 

If you forget to bring your season pass, please proceed to any ticket window located at the Front Gate. With proper identification a temporary pass will be issued. The temporary pass is only valid for that day and there is a maximum of three temporary passes per guest per season. A nominal processing fee will be assessed to replace a lost or stolen season pass or a forgotten pass after the third temporary pass has been used. 

Some attractions may close in inclement weather until conditions permit safe operation. Please enjoy a meal or shopping until such weather passes. Kings Island does not issue rain checks or refunds for inclement weather.

No outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed to be brought into Kings Island or Soak City Water Park. Exceptions are made for Guests with special dietary needs to include food allergies and baby food and formula. Guests with special dietary needs should stop at Guest Services located at the Front Gate when they arrive at the Park.  

If you wish to leave the park and return on the same day, please have your hand stamped at the Front Gate or Soak City exit. If you wish to leave the parking lot and re-enter, present your parking receipt to the attendant when you return.  Please be advised there is no re-entry after 7:00 p.m. during Halloween Haunt nights for both ticket holders and passholders. 

There are several ATMs located throughout the park for your convenience, including near the main entrance.

We are pleased to offer discounted tickets to active and retired members of the military and veterans on all public operating days. The discount offer is available online and is valid for up to six (6) family members. The discount may vary throughout the season.

A limited number of wheelchairs and electronic convenience vehicles (ECV) are available for rental at the Rental Center on the left just inside the Front Gate. However, since wheelchairs and ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, we urge guests to bring their own wheelchair. Please be advised that Kings Island's strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs are not allowed to leave the park. 

Only service animals are permitted in the park. Kings Island does not have pet care facilities on site.

Guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at Kings Island. Valid State issued identification or valid driver's license is required upon each person purchasing, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted while in line for any ride. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought into Kings Island from any outside source or in any type of container. 

Kings Island is now cashless. All of our in-park locations only accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

No card? No problem! We have Cash-to-Card kiosks that can transfer cash to a card – no fees – which can be used anywhere, not just at the park.

For the convenience of all our guests, smoking of any kind, including vapor and e-cigarettes, is only permitted in the designated smoking area outside the park’s main entrance. Please refer to our map for the specific location. Smoking is not permitted inside Kings Island. Thank you for your cooperation.

Lockers are available for rent in different areas of the main park and in Soak City. The park is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Guests can enjoy regional favorites and name-brand choices like Skyline Chili, LaRosa's Pizza, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Cinnabon, Graeter's Ice Cream and Starbucks. Traditional amusement park favorites such as hamburgers, hotdogs, deli sandwiches, burritos, tacos, taco salads, BBQ chicken and ribs and smoked turkey legs. Kings Island is also famous for its blue ice cream!

Your admission to Kings Island includes all rides and attractions with exception to two paid attractions (Sling Shot or Xtreme Skyflyer), or events which require a separate admission.

Parking is $17 per vehicle for regular parking and $27 for preferred when purchased in advance online. A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available near the Front Gate on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Halloween Haunt is included free with park admission to Kings Island. Guests with a 2020 or 2021 Gold or Platinum season pass can enjoy unlimited admission during public operating days in the fall. Halloween Haunt will return in 2021. Regular season passes are not valid for admission to Kings Island during public operating days after Labor Day. Re-Entry is not allowed after 6 p.m. for both ticket and passholders on Halloween Haunt nights. 

Guests are welcome to wear costumes and face paint during the Tricks And Treats event. If there is any question about a guest’s identity, the park reserves the right to ask that the face covering and/or face paint be removed. Costume masks may only be worn during the Tricks And Treats Costume Contest. Costume masks must be worn in conjunction with a COVID-19 face covering.

Costume guidelines are as follows:

  • Costumes must be family-friendly
  • Costumes cannot be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent in nature
    • Obscene language or graphics are not allowed
    • Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment are not allowed
    • No weapons
    • No sharp or pointed objects or materials that could accidentally strike other guests
    • Nothing overly gory
    • Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times

The park reserves the right to deny admission to, or remove, any person wearing attire that is inappropriate or that could detract from the experience of other guests.

All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are prohibited at (in) all Cedar Fair parks, including Kings Island, and any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Kings Island will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation. Drones may pose a potential safety risk and may violate Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Unauthorized flight may result in revoked visitation privileges.

Parents like to have as much fun as the kids. To make it easier for Moms and Dads to enjoy the rides too, Kings Island offers the Parent Swap Program. This is how it works: one parent or guardian waits in line to ride a thirll ride or other height-restricted attraction. After riding, that parent or guardian gives the Parent Swap Pass to the ride operator and the other parent or guardian, who has been taking care of the little ones, can walk up the exit or alternate access lane to get right on the ride. To participate in the Parent Swap Program, parents or guardians need to obtain the Parent Swap Pass from Guest Services located at the front gate, the Help Center located inside and to the left of the front gate, or the Family Care Center across from Chick-Fil-A near Planet Snoopy.

Kings Island offers a service to quickly reunite separated children and parents with cell phones. Please sign up for this service at Guest Services located at the front gate, the Help Center next to the Fast Lane booth, the Family Care Center across from Chick-fil-A, or Soak City Water park Guest Services.

The safety of our guests and associates is our number one priority, and we have implemented several enhanced security procedures at all entrance gates. As part of the process:

  • Guests arriving at the park will go through metal detection.
  • All bags, purses, backpacks, waist packs, etc. are subject to search prior to entering.
  • Sharp objects (including pocket knives and metal chains), firearms, or other items that could be considered a weapon are strictly prohibited and should be left at home or secured in your vehicle.  
  • Please see our separate FAQ on outside food and beverages.

We use a variety of methods in securing our parks including uniformed and plain clothes officers, and video surveillance monitoring. 

Kings Island does not tolerate guests who fight and/or harass other guests while on our property. People who engage in this behavior are subject to being ejected and potentially banned from the park, and may be subject to arrest by local police.

For safety reasons, on-ride photography of any kind is prohibited on all rides except the Eiffel Tower and the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad. Due to the potential for water damage, White Water Canyon, Congo Falls and Race for Your Life Charlie Brown riders should leave their cameras and other valuable items with a non-rider or in a locker. Use of camera phones or any type of photography or video recording devices is prohibited in any rest room or Soak City changing area.

Guests taking pictures or video while riding will be asked to leave the park with no refund given and may be cited with a misdemeanor under ORC 993.08.

We are strict and thorough in the steps we take and the processes we use to keep our properties safe and promote a healthy environment. To protect our guests and associates and prevent the spread of illness, we employ rigorous sanitation standards and robust cleaning procedures, including:

  • Extensive training for associates on maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace and environment for our guests;
  • Appropriate personal protective clothing and gear for associates who are assigned for cleaning duties;
  • Specified intervals for frequent cleaning and disinfection of targeted areas throughout the day;
  • Procedures for cleaning and disinfection of areas throughout the day and where illness has been suspected or reported;
  • Quick response to spills, trash and other situations;
  • Daily sanitation procedures, for everything from bathroom faucets and sinks to kitchen and dining surfaces, benches and trash cans;
  • Daily cleaning and “wash down” of outdoors locations, including walkways and queue lines;
  • Guest and associate first aid locations to assist with minor health issues.

We maintain close relationships with local, state, national, and international public health authorities, and take their guidance when additional preventive measures are needed.

All Day Dining
Guests with All Day Dining will receive a wristband at any of the participating locations and enjoy an entree and side as often as every 90 minutes! Drinks are not included. However, you may purchase a Souvenir Bottle online at our best price.

All Season Dining
When you purchase an All Season Dining Plan*, it will automatically be uploaded to your season pass. Simply present your pass at any participating locations throughout the park and enjoy lunch and dinner (with only a 4 hour interval between meals) every time you visit. Drinks are not included but we offer a Souvenir Bottle and Season Pass Drink Plan for free drink refills** all season.

*Valid through WinterFest. **15 minute interval time between refills.

Single Meal Deal
Simply redeem your voucher at any participating locations for an entree, side, and a fountain drink. 

All Day Dining Plan
Guests with All Day Dining voucher will receive a wristband at any of the participating locations.   Enjoy an entree and side as often as every 90 minutes throughout the day.  Drinks are not included.  We recommend adding a Souvenir Bottle with free refills on your first visit and $1 refills (plus tax) for the rest ofthe season with your All Day Dining purchase.

All Day Dining
All Day Dining may be purchased in the park at any ticket window or participating dining location. Or, save yourself some time and purchase your All Day Dining Plan online before you go to the park. 

All Season Dining
Add the All Season Dining Plan onto your Season Pass and stay fueled for the fun all season long. All Season Dining includes lunch and dinner at participating locations throughout the park every time you visit during the season, including WinterFest!  

Single Meal Deal includes a fountain drink. 

While the All Day and All Season Dining Plans do not include drinks, you may consider buying a Souvenir Bottle online. With a Souvenir Bottle, you can enjoy free refills all day long on your first visit and $1 (taxes included) refills for the rest of the season. Or, get free drink refills* all season long with the All Season Souvenir Bottle or Season Pass Drink Plan. Enjoy refreshing Coca-Cola beverages including Minute Maid Lemonade, Hi-C Fruit Punch and Powerade all day or all season. The choice is yours!

As a Platinum Passholder, the All Season Dining Plan and All Season Souvenir Bottle are valid at any Cedar Fair park within the U.S. and Canada. Simply present your Platinum Pass at any participating food locations during your park visit to enjoy lunch and dinner (with only a 4 hour interval time between meals) and free refills with your Souvenir Bottle. All Season Dining is NOT valid at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels or Schlitterbahn Galveston.

The All Season Souvenir Bottle and Season Pass Drink Plan are two separate programs. You will not be able to use your Season Pass card if you forget your bottle.

If you prefer the All Season Souvenir Bottle, visit Guest Services during your first visit in 2022 and receive your souvenir bottle.

You can purchase an All Season Souvenir Bottle or the Season Pass Drink Plan online or at the park.

Visit Guest Services at the park, and for a $2.99 exchange fee, you can be switched over to the bottle free program. The barcode on your bottle will be deactivated, and you can start to use your Season Pass immediately for your refills.

You may refill as often as you like with a time window of 15 minutes between refills.

Yes, if you would like to refill the same disposable paper cup after the 15 minute waiting period, bring it back to a beverage location and an associate can help you.

Visit Guest Services at the park and for a $2.99 replacement charge your bottle can be replaced. The barcode on the lost/stolen bottle will be deactivated so that it can no longer be used, and you can start to use your new bottle immediately. Deactivation and replacement can only be done if the All Season Souvenir Bottle has been added to a valid Season Pass, and can only be requested by the pass holder. Souvenir bottles not associated to a Season Pass cannot be deactivated and replaced.

If you lose your Season Pass, Guest Services can help you replace it (for a nominal fee) and activate the Season Pass Drink Plan on your new pass.

If you forget your Season Pass, please stop at any ticket window located at the Front Gate. With proper identification a temporary pass will be issued to you. The temporary pass is only valid for that day and will have the Season Pass Drink Plan attached.

The Season Pass Drink Plan can be added to all Season Pass types, except Halloween Haunt passes (where offered).

Yes, present your All Season Souvenir Bottle or your Season Pass if you have the Season Pass Drink Plan at any Cedar Fair park to enjoy the same refill benefits.

You can use these on any public operating day, and the programs are valid for the regular season, as well as Halloween events and WinterFest (where offered).

 

FunPix

It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

Purchase a FunPix plan online, at the front gate or at any Fun Pix location and create your account.

Download the park app to your mobile device. This is where all your FunPix photos will be housed.

Get your photo taken at locations throughout the park! 

  • At FunPix locations (show your FunPix card after the ride) 
  • By roaming FunPix photographers (show your FunPix card to the photographer) 

All FunPix digital photos taken throughout the day (with a Single Day Digital Pass) or season (with an All Season Digital Pass) can be found within the Kings Island app. Download as many digital photos as you would like from the app or our FunPix website.

Order prints the same day in the park and receive a great price.

After you purchase FunPix online you will receive a receipt email to use as a voucher. To redeem:

1. Print the receipt and bring it with you on the day of your visit to the park.
2. Present the receipt at any FunPix location to get your FunPix card and create your account.
3. That's all there is to it! Remember to have your card scanned any time your picture is taken at a FunPix Location to add that picture to your account!

Season Passholders, your FunPix voucher is tied to your season pass, just present your pass at a FunPix location and let them know you have FunPix!

No problem! Just come to a FunPix location, give us your email address and we’ll issue you a new card and link your existing FunPix photos to it.

It’s OK! As long as you have the purchase receipt on your mobile device, we can access the information we need from there. Or, visit Guest Services.

For Single Day Pass holders, FunPix photos will be available for 30 days. For All Season Pass holders, FunPix photos will be available until the end of the season.

No, those are separate activities.

Your digital photos can be added to your FunPix account with the purchase of any regular price Santa Photo item. FunPix discounts do not apply to Santa Photo.

No, FunPix is already a tremendous value, so no additional discounts apply.

No, the FunPix All Season Digital Photo Pass is available only to Kings Island season passholders.

All Season FunPix cardholders will get to capture, collect and share all of their photos at all other FunPix parks:

When you renew your Kings Island Season Pass for the 2021 Season, just add FunPix to your pass, and your FunPix account will automatically renew for the 2021 season.

 

Locker Rentals

Yes, because the system checks the barcode of your Pass when you redeem, this program is only available to Season Pass Holders.

Unfortunately, there are no Platinum options for this program. The Season Pass Locker Rentals will only be available at Kings Island at this time.

Lockers are assigned randomly on a first come, first serve basis by the kiosk, so you will have a different locker each time you redeem your rental.

While sellouts are rare, they occasionally occur on high volume dates.  The program does not guarantee that a Standard locker will be available for you at all times of day in your preferred locker location.  If you are visiting on a busy day, please plan to arrive early and redeem your rental soon after you arrive.  

When you scan your Season Pass at the locker kiosk, you will create a 4-digit PIN that will open your locker.  Do not share your PIN with anyone outside your party. You will be asked to create a PIN each time you redeem your rental.

Due to limited capacity, discounts are not available on Large and Jumbo lockers.

Please empty your locker prior to leaving the park.  All lockers reset overnight and will be issued to a different guest the following operating day. Items left in the locker overnight will be removed and taken to Lost and Found. 

The Soak City rental area is only accessible during Soak City hours of operation.

Yes, subject to availability.

Your Season Pass Locker Rental is only good once per day, so you will not be able to move your rental after you redeem for the day.

Season Pass Locker Rentals are valid only at the following all-day rental locations: Front Gate Locker Rentals and Soak City Locker Rentals. 

 

Cabanas

  • Maximum capacity for all Cabanas is six (6) guests.
  • Up to two additional children under 2 years old may be added at no charge.
  • Up to two additional adults may be added for $10 each, and must be purchased at the park.
  • Groups exceeding these capacity limits will need to rent an additional Cabana
  • If you wish to cancel a Cabana reservation you must do so by 10 AM the morning of your reservation date.
  • No refunds for cancellations after 10 AM including cancellations for inclement weather.
  • To cancel your reservation please call 513-754-5776.
  • Cabanas are only accessible during Soak City operating hours
  • Guests must present their rental voucher at a Cabana Host stand on the day of their visit to receive their Cabana rental
  • You must select a specific date at the time of reservation, this date cannot be changed once a reservation is made.
