You’re pumped up and ready for a great day at Kings Island when you check your mobile device and see the weather report. Unfortunately, the forecast calls for rain and your plans seem to be washing away with it. Don’t worry! Rainy days can be the best days to visit Kings Island. The wait time for your favorite rides and attractions will be minimal, plus there's more to do than just rides. The park is basically a one-stop-shop for indoor fun an excitement. Take a look at all of the things to do indoors at Kings Island.

1. Live Shows

There are plenty of indoor live shows at KI that will entertain the whole family.

Forever Country

For the music lovers, this show features all of your favorite country hits and classics along with dancing and food. Located in Festhaus dining hall, this all-new show features a live band and vocalists performing songs by Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and more. Forever Country is especially great for those who want to eat while watching a show. Festhaus has LaRosa’s, Panda Express and other family-friendly foods.

Prepare to be mesmerized by the acrobatic performances in an all-new show guests of all ages will enjoy, featuring an incredible showcase of strength, balance and athleticism. The characters perform bicycle and aerial stunts, among other amazing tricks, all in a story set on an alien planet.

Lunch with the PEANUTS Gang

Perfect for the little ones, this Festhaus show features your favorite PEANUTS characters singing and dancing. The characters even join the crowd so the kids can dance along and get hugs while parents snap photos. Since this show is in Festhaus, families can eat while they enjoy the show. The dining hall includes LaRosa’s, Panda Express and more.

For more information on our live shows, visit our events page.

2. Indoor dining

It’s not all about cotton candy and blue ice cream! Kings Island has plenty of nice sit-down restaurants and Cincinnati food favorites. In between shows and rides, sit back, relax and let our top-notch staff do the rest.

Reds Hall of Fame Grille

Rounding third and heading for lunch, this table service restaurant in Rivertown is basically a museum inside the park. While you dine on wings, chicken tenders, salads and ice cold beer, explore Reds memorabilia, read about the rich history of the Cincinnati Reds and catch a game on one of the 28 flat screen TV’s.

Festhaus on International Street has a fine selection of delicious dining options including LaRosa's pizza (including gluten-free pizza), chicken tenders, freshly grilled cheeseburgers and bacon burgers, chicken tenders, mac & cheese, salads and desserts. Festhaus also has live entertainment throughout the day, so grab a seat and enjoy the show while you dine!

Graeter’s Ice Cream

Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, please! Cool off with Cincinnati’s favorite ice cream since 1870, plus milkshakes, coffee and lemonade. With 14 flavors, you can’t choose just one!

3. Shopping

Kings Island’s gift shops have more than Mystic Timbers and Banshee shirts. With over a dozen places to shop throughout the park, Kings Island is basically a mini mall! Many of the stores have name-brand, fashionable clothing and accessories with something to fit every personality and preference.

This store is great for both the fashionista and the Kings Island super fan. It includes cute Cincinnati and Ohio-themed clothes (including pro sports clothing), home décor, Squishmallow stuffed animals and fashionable Kings Island-themed merchandise, not just oversized T-shirts and keychains! Even better, when you purchase Clothe Ohio’s Ohio-themed apparel, a donation goes to an Ohioan in need. Look good and do good!

Did you know Kings Island has its own Build-A-Bear with exclusive merchandise? Get a Kings Island T-shirt for your furry friend, or bring home Pikachu and Kylo Ren. This shop is definitely a great way to get a unique keepsake, and it keeps the traditions of Build-A-Bear while adding a special, Kings Island touch. Check out our blog for more details.

Coaster Connection

From Under Armour to Fox Racing to Roxy, this shop features apparel with and without park theming and is perfect for the guest who wants to remember their visit in a stylish way. Try on a Banshee snapback hat or a Banshee Spirit Jersey, then grab a Mystic Timbers shot glass – it makes a great gift!

No matter the weather forecast, there's always plent to do at Kings Island.

New track part of Racer roller coaster's annual winter work

An incredible amount of care goes into the Racer each winter to keep the ride in peak operating condition. Annual work during the winter months may include replacing a number of the running rails made of flattened steel strips mounted on the wooden track, replacing support bents and ledgers, or sections of track. Some years one side of the ride may be in need of more extensive work than the other, such as this winter with the back turnaround on the north (blue trains) side retracked in December.
