Guest Services

Things To Know Before You Go

Our goal is to make Kings Island as enjoyable and barrier free as pratical

Listed below are some of the services we offer. Please feel free to suggest areas in which we might improve in the future.

1. On most rides where guests in wheelchairs can be accommodated, guests will have to leave their wheelchairs to be seated.

2. A limited supply of wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles (ECV) are available for rental at the Rental Center on the left just inside the front gate. However, since wheelchairs and ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-served basis and cannont be reserved in advance, we urge guests to bring their own wheelchair.

3. Our two First Aid Stations are staffed from 10 a.m. to closing. Refrigeration for medication, with the exception of bee sting anaphylaxis kits, is available at First Aid, and medical equipment can be stored. One First Aid Station is located in Planet Snoopy, adjacent to Charlie Brown's Wind Up. A second is located in Soak City, near the Train Station.

4. All shows and most attractions are accessible. Please see an usher for seating accommodations.

5. Assistive listening systems utilize a lightweight wireless device that receives a signal from transmitters at certain locations in order to amplify sound. These are recommended for guests with mild to moderate hearing loss. This system is located in the following Live Entertainment venues: Kings Island Theater, International Showplace, Festhaus, and the PEANUTS Playhouse. Please ask one of our house ushers to assist in obtaining a device.

6. If requested a minimum of seven (7) days in advance, Kings Island will provide American Sign Language Interpretation at the following venues: Kings Island Theater, PEANUTS Playhouse, Festhaus, International Bandstand, and the International Showplace. To arrange for sign language interpreting services, please call 513.754.5700. Live Show scripts or Score sheets are available at each show venue (with the exception of Kings Island Theater) upon request and must be returned at the end of the show.

7. ATTY is available at Guest Services for guests with hearing disabilities needing to use a telephone.

8. Service dogs are welcome at Kings Island. Service dogs must be physically controlled on a leash or harness at all times. Due to the nature of most rides, service dogs must remain with a non-riding member of the guest's party. Kings Island associates are not permitted to take control of service dogs. Guests whose service dogs demonstrate aggressive actions toward our guests or associates will be directed to remove the animal from the park. Limit one service dog per guest. Service dogs are accommodated on Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, Eiffel Tower, Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad, Woodstock Whirlybirds, Grand Carousel, and Character Carousel. Please refer to each ride admission policy for futher information regarding service animals. Guests may take advantage of our Parent Swap policy for staying with the service dog.

9. Lockers are available for rent and located at the front gate, in Action Zone near the new Banshee roller coaster, in Rivertown near the entrance to White Water Canyon, and in Soak City.

10. Smoking: As we strive to accommodate all of our guests, designated smoking areas have been established throughout Kings Island. Please refer to our Park Guide & Map for specific locations. Smoking is not permitted in any theater, ride or waiting area, and any in-door or out-door restaurant.

11. In Soak City, lifejackets are provided free of charge. Only coast guard approved lifejackets are allowed. For Tidal Wave Bay, Breakers Bay and Splash River, a lifejacket is required for anyone who is less than 48" tall in bare feet or is an inexperienced or non-swimmer. Guests less than 48" tall must wear a lifejacket and be accompanied by a responsible adult.

12. If you need futher information or have a specific need that is not addressed here, please contact us by calling 513.754.5700.

Supervise Children at all times

Children may be "officially" measured at one of the Height Measurement Stations located at Guest Services located at the front gate, just inside the front gate on International Street and at the entrance of Planet Snoopy near the entrance to Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. The measured guest will be given a wristband to indicate height. Wristbands are not required to ride but are intended to make your wait in line shorter by streamlining the rider height measurement process.

For the safety of the child, a standard shoe that does not contribute excessively to the child's height is required. For example, a child is not permitted to wear platform shoes to help meet the height requirement. Kings Island reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child's height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.

Travel Light

When planning your day at Kings Island, it's best to travel light. Bring only items that can be safely secured in cargo pockets (fastened with velcro, a button or zipper) or waist pack fastened with a zipper.

Most rides cannot accommodate loose articles including cell phones, pagers, hats, cameras, stuffed animals, purses, backpacks, umbrellas, beverage containers, personal entertainment devices, etc. Items must be safely secured in cargo pockets, a waist pack, in a bin on the ride platform if available, left in a locker, or with a non-rider.

On Banshee and Firehawk: Loose items are not able to be stored in bins on the ride platform area.

For safety reasons, taking pictures, videotaping and filming on rides is prohibited and can be cause for ejection from the park.

Lost and Found Articles

Be sure to secure all loose articles such as glasses, cellular phones, pagers, loose change, cameras, keys, clothing, sunglasses, hats, wallets, etc., before you board a ride. All items found at Kings Island are turned in to our Lost and Found Department located at the front gate near the admissions windows.

If you lose an item on a ride, we will search for the article as soon as possible. In order to keep the ride in operation an immediate search is not possible. Please visit Lost and Found to complete paperwork to ensure the item is returned to you if it's found. For your safety, do not enter restricted areas. You may be seriously injured if you enter a restricted area.

If your item has not been found by the time you leave the park, please call 513.754.5805 to follow up with our Lost and Found Department.

Make time for our Live Entertainment Shows

Due to the popularity of our shows and attractions, we suggest that you arrive early. Seating is limited at all of our locations, available on a first-come, first-served basis. All shows are wheelchair accessible. Please see an usher for seating accommodations. Show schedules are available in advance online and at any theatre entrance and Guest Services. Show schedules are subject to change without notice.

Bad Weather

Some attractions may close in bad weather until conditions permit safe operation. In the event of bad weather, enjoy a show, meal or shopping until such weather passes. Please be advised Kings Island cannot issue rain checks or refunds for inclement weather. In case of severe weather, area emergency system sirens will sound and further instructions will be given over the public address system.

Parents like to have fun too!

We know Parents like to have as much fun as the kids. To make it easy for Mom and Dad to enjoy the rides too, we offer the Parent Swap Program. Here's how it works: one parent waits in line to ride a thrill ride or other height-restricted attraction. After riding, they give their Parent Swap pass to the ride operator and the other parent/guardian, who has been taking care of the little ones, can walk up the exit or alternate access lane to get right on the ride.

To participate in Parent Swap, parents need to obtain a slip to authorize them for the program at Guest Services located at the front gate.

Parents, sign up for this service

Kings Island ofers a service to quickly reunite separated children and parents with cell phones. Please sign up for this service at Guest Services located at the front gate; Baby Care or Soak City Waterpark Guest Services.

If you wish to leave the park and return on the same day...

If you wish to leave the park and return on the same day, please have your hand stamped on your way out at the front gate. If you wish to leave the parking lot and re-enter, present your parking receipt to the attendant when you return.

You don't have to leave your pets at home

Only guide dogs/service animals are permitted inside the park. Your pet may be left at our Pet Care Center located outside the front gate during park operating hours. A $20 fee is required ($60 for the entire season).

Your safety is our top priority!

Kings Island's Ride Admission Policy has been developed based on the recommendations of the manufacturer, our past experience and our evaluation of each ride using our knowledge of the ride in both normal and emergency operating conditions.

Our prime consideration is the ability of each person to endure the dynamics of the ride without risk of injury to that person or other riders.

Any guest that feels he or she may be affected by this policy is encouraged to visit Guest Services lcoated at the front gate to obtain a list of the rides her or she can safely ride.

Your Ride Admission Policy list will provide information for our ride operators to help accommodate you.

Use of camera phones or any type of photography or video recording devices is prohibited in any rest room or Soak City changing area.
