Six simple steps for using a Parent Swap Pass

Laura Manhardt

Like many of our treasured guests, Laura grew up coming to Kings Island and enjoying the sweet treats (Blue Ice Cream, anyone?) and fun times the park has to offer. Now, as a Social Media Coordinator for Kings Island, Laura strives to share the fresh perspective and classic character that make our park unique and keep guests like her coming back year after year.

Are you tired of missing out on Kings Island’s biggest attractions because your little ones are, well, too little? Don’t sweat it, because our Parent Swap Pass has got you covered. Keep reading to find out how to mix some major thrills into your Planet Snoopy days.

Step 1: When you enter the park, head left to find our Help Center. It’s next to the yellow Fast Lane Booth, and right across from our Stroller and Wheelchair Rental. Ask the associate on duty for a Parent Swap Pass. They will give you a sheet of paper that looks like this:

Step 2: Fill out the pass with the current date and the names of the parents who will be swapping out on rides. Then, once you’ve had the kids measured at the Height Wall next door and picked up some Kid Track wristbands (helpful for kiddos who are prone to wandering), you’re all set to approach your first ride!

Step 3: Once you’ve selected your first thrill ride, have the first parent wait off the ride with the child(ren) who ARE NOT able to ride. The second parent should then take the Parent Swap Pass, and any children who ARE able to ride, and hop into the ride line.

Step 4: The second parent will simply show their Parent Swap Pass to an associate on the ride platform, and the associate will make note that one parent has come through the ride. Once the ride is over, the second parent and any present children are free to proceed through the exit.

Step 5: The first parent, who has been waiting off the ride, will take the Parent Swap Pass from the second parent. While the second parent takes their turn waiting, the first parent can take any children who are able to ride up the exit. Yes, you read that right – any child who is able to can ride twice (once with each parent)!

Step 6: The first parent simply walks up the exit and shows their Parent Swap Pass to the associate waiting for them. The associate will mark off that this parent has arrived and then board that parent and any present children.

That’s all there is to it! Parent Swap Passes are easy to use and available to any guest upon request. By picking up a Parent Swap Pass and using our Six Simple Steps, parents can ensure that the whole family has their Best Day Ever at Kings Island.

The Astro-Comet: Remembering King Cobra

In 1984, Kings Island was standing room only as King Cobra made its way into the spotlight of the Adventure Village area of the park. Designed by TOGO, it was the first roller coaster in the world to be designed from the ground up as a stand-up. Other stand-up roller coasters that preceded King Cobra were sit-down models later modified to accommodate stand-up trains, so this made it truly the world’s first.
