Phantom Theater Encore now playing in Kings Island Theater

The list is long of theater and musical productions adapted into feature films and vice-versa, but the list of amusement and theme park rides adapted into full musical productions stands at one: Phantom Theater at Kings Island.
In celebration of Kings Island’s 50th anniversary, the Kings Island Theater presents Phantom Theater Encore, a musical tribute production of the beloved former attraction, which operated from 1992 to 2002, giving 14.1 million rides.
In the plot, once every 50 years the enchanted Phantom Theater materializes in this spooky, zany and whimsical show. The inhabitants of the Phantom Theater are awakened from the dead by the malevolent sounds of the Maestro’s pipe organ to give a creepy and kooky performance of an “after” lifetime. Through toe-tapping production numbers, circus, magic and comedy routines, these ghoulish thespians show of their unearthly talents to guests.
As guests enter the theater, there is an ominous and spooky feeling. There is the faint sounds of eerie organ music playing in the background and strange ghostly sounds from around the theater. The lobby is essentially a museum with original artwork from the attraction.
Written by K.C. Gussler, Phantom Theater Encore can be seen daily (except Thursdays) at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. You don't want to miss it during your visit to Kings Island!
