JDRF One Walk at Kings Island raises $729,000

More than 3,500 people gathered at Kings Island today, not to ride roller coasters like The Beast and Orion, but to walk for an important cause.
The walkers participated in the annual Junior Diabetes Research Fund One Walk to share JDRF’s mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
The morning walk featured a 3k course around Kings Island, offering views of popular attractions. Seeing the coordinated t-shirts, with some walkers carrying balloons and hearing heart-warming as well as heart-breaking stories is very moving.
The JDRF event at Kings Island is one of the largest fundraising walks and overall nonprofit fundraising events in the region. Since 1994, more than $16 million has been raised from walks at the 364-acre amusement and water park, including this year’s total.
Thank you to all who participated and helped raise money for an amazing cause. Together we can turn type 1 into type none!
