Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) is a roller coaster designer and manufacturing company based in Sunbury, PA. It was founded in 1994 and is best known for its wooden roller coasters.

One of GCI’s most recent roller coasters is the award-winning Mystic Timbers at Kings Island. The ride opened to rave reviews in 2017 – winning Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Award for “Best New Ride” – and features many of the signature elements GCI has become known for including tight sweeping curves, a throwback to designs from the early 1900’s by notable coaster designers such as Fred Church and Harry Traver.

Custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by GCI, riders on Mystic Timbers traverse 16 airtime moments through wooded terrain and over water along a 3,265-foot long track at speeds up to 53 mph.

The ride experience on Mystic Timbers is both fun and thrilling. It is one of the first rides guests head to when they arrive at Kings Island in the morning and in the argument for the best night ride among wooden roller coasters in the amusement and theme park industry.

The video below features stunning aerial, off-ride, forward and reverse POV of Mystic Timbers. Enjoy!
