Sweet treats homemade for guests

As opening day for our season passholders is less than a week away, I thought I’d check in on our amazing Sweet Spot confectioners to give you a little “taste” on what they've been up to.

The main focus was getting cotton candy ready, along with my personal favorite, blue ice cream fudge cones. If you have not tried the blue ice cream fudge cones, allow me to be the first to tell you that they taste exactly like our world-famous blue ice cream does. These little spheres of sweetness are absolutely delectable, and are a must-try for visitors. As for the cotton candy, just over 300 boxes have been made today, and many more are on the way.

Did you know that Kings Island offers a variety of homemade flavors? Our “everyday” flavors may include bubble gum, cake batter, blue ice cream, cookie dough and chocolate fudge. If you're feeling adventurous, our “rotating” flavors include pear, pineapple, Bavarian cream, wasabi, alfredo, and butter!

Be sure to drop by Sweet Spot on International Street the next time you visit Kings Island.

Hidden references in Kings Mills Antique Autos

When you bring the past back to the present, you should always bring extras and that’s exactly what Kings Island did with the Kings Mills Antique Autos. While retaining the original look of the Les Taxis ride which operated from 1972 to 2004, Kings Mills Antique Autos features many odes to past and present rides within the ride itself. Let’s start with the cars themselves. These four passenger autos are 2/3-scale replicas of the 1911 Ford Model T, obviously an ode to the original cars from Les Taxis.
