Great Ohio Coaster Club enjoys a day of fun and thrills at Kings Island
August 8, 2020The Great Ohio Coaster Club held its first event of the year today at Kings Island with more than 130 members enjoying a day of fun and thrills, including exclusive morning ride time on the new Orion roller coaster and a catered meal.
The Great Ohio Coaster Club was established in 1992 with a mission to bring like-minded people together for the simple enjoyment of the roller coaster, both wood and steel. The club has nearly 1,400 members spread across 25 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
In a typical year, the Great Ohio Coaster Club will host five park events during the core amusement park season, which includes spring, summer and fall.
The Great Ohio Coaster Club also holds four planning meetings each year where members can attend and learn about the state of the club and help plan future events.
At the end of each year in December, the Great Ohio Coaster Club has an annual Holiday Party which features guest speakers from parks throughout the region, door prizes, great food and more.
A lot of good people are involved with the Great Ohio Coaster Club. Attending an event feels like a big family reunion. You’re truly a part of something special as a member of the club, which is why this morning when I returned to my office after the morning ride session on Orion, I pulled out my credit card and became the Great Ohio Coaster Club’s newest member.
If you’re a roller coaster fan and want to meet other like-minded people, the Great Ohio Coaster Club would love to have you join them. Information on how to join can be found here.
