If you love a parade, then you’ll want to make plans to visit Kings Island during the all-new Grand Carnivale.
Immerse yourself in the electrifying vibe of the Spectacle of Color Parade, a fanciful fusion of extravagantly decorated floats, whimsical street performers and pulsing rhythms of cultures worldwide, which promises to enchant and delight guests of all ages.
The Spectacle of Color Parade begins at 8:00 p.m. each night during Grand Carnivale in Coney Mall near the Zephyr and makes its way around International Street.
The procession leads off with an extravagant float featuring the “King of Carnivale!” – a three-dimensional, sculpted crowned figure that glitters in a rainbow of LED light. The King is the gate-keeper of the parade. He and his court welcome guests to this “party of all parties!”
France rolls in highlighting Kings Island’s iconic Eiffel Tower. Pierrot and Pierette, perhaps the most famous French Mimes in the world, joyfully invite guests to enjoy the Cancan and all that is French.
Next up in the parade floats is my favorite, an immense Indian elephant created entirely out of drums. Live drummers surround this float, creating a rhythmic celebration as they dance through the street.
A splendid stag and delightful cuckoo clock then transports guests on a fun-filled adventure to Old World Germany. Oktoberfest revelers and dancers invite you to join in the party and celebrate Carnivale German style.
The next float in the procession pays homage to one of the most iconic, mythical symbols in China’s five-thousand-year history – the Dragon. An immense Sea Dragon appears, ploughing the ocean atop tumbling crested waves.
Guests lining the streets will next see a Jules Verne Airship that lights up the night. Suspended from this gigantic glittering dirigible is a magical Italian ship that contains our Old World Explorer.
The final three floats in the Spectacle of Color Parade are a valentine to America’s most treasured Carnivale celebration – Mardi Gras.
Grand Carnivale runs June 15 through July 7 and is included with park admission.
