Entertainment abounds at Grand Carnivale

Natalie Belfiglio

Social Media Coordinator - Kings Island

Grand Carnivale is all about immersing yourself into different cultures and that doesn’t just include food and parades, it includes entertainment! Over 100 performers will whisk you away to their countries on their own bandstands while you enjoy the ambience, food, crafts and games for the little ones.

Far East meets the West when Asian performers and artists take the stage. With Chinese acrobats performing flexible feats you won’t want to miss it and be on the lookout for a Chinese writing demonstration! While you’re visiting China be sure to stop over by the crafts table where you can pick up a post card and make your own colorful paper lantern!

Can you Cancan? Everyone can Cancan, you can Cancan too! Over at the French pavilion band stand, you’ll find high-energy French Cancan troupe that is high-kicking their way to Carnivale Glory. With a variety of acts and our animated mimes, jubilant jugglers and towering stilt-walkers, France is a must see on our Grand Carnivale tour! Don’t forget to pick up your postcard and craft your own Carnivale Shaker Sticks at the crafts table.

Guten tag! Located right outside Festhaus is where you will find the German area of Grand Carnivale. You won’t be able to resist tapping your feet and clapping your hands at the Germany band stand where they have everything polka. From lively bands, talented accordion players and horn ensembles, you won’t want to miss it! Snag a postcard and your very own Carnivale Crown when you hit up the crafts table.

Experience India’s enchanting culture through authentic dancing and music. Feel the beat of the Indian drummers and embrace the rhythm from our Bollywood dance troupe. Dance along and learn some of the moves! Have you gotten your postcard from the crafts table yet? While you’re there be sure to make your own India treasure; colorful beaded bracelets!

Last but certainly not least, beautiful Italia! Did you know that Italy is considered the birthplace of opera? Here at the Italian band stand you’ll find a lively vocalist belting out the hottest Italian hits, a talented chalk artist creating true pieces of colorful art and an authentic puppetry performance. Be on the lookout for a unicyclist and our Grape Smashing photo display. Create your very own Italian Carnivale mask and collect your final post card!

Wow, does it feel like you’ve been around the world? Don’t forget to watch our Spectacle of Color Parade and discover the cuisine of each country. Did we mention there’s desert? Grab your Grand Carnivale food tasting card and start exploring!

Grand Carnivale runs daily through July 7. The celebration begins at 5 p.m. each day.
