Some interesting facts about the Dodgem
July 16, 2019Want to feel all of the feels? You can experience all three of Newton’s laws of motion while riding the Dodgem – inertia, acceleration, and reaction. That is why when you bump another car, you also get a jolt and usually bounce in the opposite direction.
And don’t forget Newton’s little known fourth law – no matter how many times you ride the Dodgem, bumping into your family and friends is always fun.
The Dodgem opened with Kings Island in 1972 and is one of 11 rides that remain from the park's inaugural season. It was refurbished in 1986, which included a location change in Coney Mall from where Coney Bar B Que is now located to its current spot next to Skyline Chili.
