Tech Electronics

JOB SUMMARY:
Under occasional supervision, installs, maintains and repairs telecommunications, two-way radio, access control systems, alarm systems, fire panels, game audio systems and equipment used throughout the park.  Provides technical assistance in general electronic maintenance as necessary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs, maintains and repairs telephone/voicemail system programming, local alarm reporting devices that interface with the energy management system, as well as game systems and equipment; modifies games to ensure maximum performance. 
  • Monitors and maintains operation of assigned vehicle and equipment, including security access control system and vehicle access control gates, for proper operating status and performs maintenance as necessary.
  • Performs general electronics maintenance and repair work as assigned as well as telephone/voicemail system programming.
  • Maintains accurate records of equipment and work performed. Receives and reviews various records and reports including maintenance reports, repair orders, work orders, schematics, start-up sheets, flow charts, electrical diagrams, etc.
  • Maintains non-portable, portable and mobile two-way radio system, including IP based consoles, repeaters, antenna, networks, remotes, including component-level maintenance and FCC-required frequency certification.  Programs radio system features as required. Maintains and programs fire alarm panels and systems.
  • Maintains inventory of required parts and supplies; prepares purchase orders as needed. Operates a vehicle, forklift, snorkel lift, air compressor, and office equipment including a computer, adding machine, copier, telephone, two-way radio, etc. Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepares and/or processes maintenance reports, start-up sheets, electrical diagrams, inventory reports, purchase orders, various logs, etc.
  • Assists in supervising daily activities of assigned seasonal employees. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Attends workshops, training, meetings, etc., to stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources.
  • Picks up/delivers equipment and supplies.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.  Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair’s attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair’s Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Vocational School with a focus in electronics maintenance and repair
  • Two years of experience in electronics maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Associates Degree (2 year college or tech school electronics maintenance and repair) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle, forklift, snorkel lift, computer, meters, measuring devices, diagnostic equipment, cabling, soldering iron, various hand and power tools, ladders, two-way radio, communications equipment, etc.
  • Possesses a valid state driver’s licence.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Area Manager Food & Beverage Operations

GENERAL SCOPE OF POSITION: 
Manages assigned food and beverage operations within the park under little supervision to generate the highest possible profit for the department and the park.  Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate supervisory staff and performs related administrative and supervisory duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages all aspects of the daily operations of assigned food and beverage locations as well as assisting in overseeing operations of the entire park; takes manager on duty shifts as assigned.
  • Recruits, hires and trains seasonal associates to maintain optimal staffing levels throughout the operating season and within budget.
  • Supervises subordinate food and beverage seasonal management staff; supervisory duties include, instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new associates; acting on associate problems;  motivating associates;  recommending and approving associate promotions, transfers and discipline, and recommending discharge.
  • Reviews the work of subordinates for effectiveness; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate;   prepares and/or processes performance evaluations, purchase orders, end-of-season summaries, and daily staffing worksheet, various other reports, memos, correspondence, etc.  Offers training, advice and assistance as needed.
  • Analyzes and monitors revenue and per capita performance daily and provides feedback to seasonal management, recommending necessary adjustments to product and the operation.  Closely monitors cash control and works with security on theft issues.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe, secure, legal and healthy work environment for all associates. Refers to policies and procedures, operations manuals, project drawings, equipment manuals, health codes, trade publications, recipe books, etc.  Monitors food safety; ensures compliance with all state and county health and safety standards, various laws and regulations, as well as industry and park standards; develops curriculum, and coordinates and trains all seasonal associates in safe food handling.
  • Develops, implements, and continually reviews operating plans for food and beverage service. Ensures the proper maintenance of food facilities, generating maintenance and project requests as needed; assists in evaluating operating results, formulating budgets and planning for future departmental growth.
  • Receives and responds to guest comment reports and interacts with park guests in person; takes corrective action as necessary to maintain effectiveness of park services and products; Receives and reviews various records and reports including attendance records, labor reports, general ledger, cost-of-sale reports, schedules, safety reports, POS reports, food waste sheets, cash variance logs, inspection reports, guest service reports, budgets, security reports, etc. 
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business/ Hospitality Management with 2-4 years related experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of food service operations and management, health safety, procurement, inventory management, budgeting, accounting, point of sale systems, laws, ordinances, standards and regulations. 
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct a managerial staff.  Must be able to apply supervisory and managerial concepts and principles; knowledge of administrative principles involved in developing, directing and supervising various programs and related activities.
  • Excellent communication skills required to interact with Park management, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, etc. to maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to make sound, educated decisions.  Reacts calmly and quickly in an emergency situation.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
  • Ability to program and maintain Food and Beverage point of sale system.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, Cushman cart, and a variety of office and food service equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in modern office practices and technology; proficient in the use of computers for work and data processing.
