5 Mother's Day ideas to make this unprecedented time one to remember
May 8, 2020Some of my favorite Kings Island memories were the early years of the park with my mom, Lois, who passed away in 1996. While I was all about riding roller coasters and other attractions, my mom introduced me to other things to enjoy, take notice of and appreciate when visiting the park. These included watching live shows, the beautiful landscaping, visiting the shops and the magic of the atmosphere.
Although we’re in a unique and unprecedented situation this year due to COVED-19 and social distancing, you can still give your mom the Mother’s Day she deserves with one of these five ideas.
1. Let her sleep in
If you love her, let her sleep in a little later than usual. But only until around 9 a.m. since you want to spend the day with her.
2. Make her breakfast in bed
If you took part in last year’s Mother’s Day brunch at Kings Island’s International Restaurant, then you can’t help but remember the delicious Cinnamon Swirl French Toast that Kings Island’s Executive Chef, James Major, made for the occasion. You can make this at home! We shared the recipe earlier this week on the Kings Island Blog.
3. Make her a Kings Island-themed Mother’s Day card or a creative masterpiece
Celebrate your mom by downloading the Kings Island coloring page to make a card featuring the park’s iconic Eiffel Tower. Click the image below to download this coloring page and share your finished page (or after you give it to mom) with us on your social media channels tagging #KingsIsland.
You can also create your own masterpiece with one of our Color by Number coloring pages. Click the image of the Carousel horse below to download the pages.
4. Make Kings Island’s Chicken Shack chicken tenders and secret sauce for dinner
The Chicken Shack at Kings Island has changed the way people think about chicken tenders. Give mom a taste of one of the park’s most popular dining locations by making the Chicken Shack’s chicken tenders and secret sauce for dinner! We recently shared the recipe on the Kings Island Blog.
5. Make Mom a special treat with Kings Island’s famous funnel cake recipe
Make Kings Island’s signature treat funnel cake at home for mom, complete with whipped cream and fun toppings! We recently shared the recipe on the Kings Island Blog.
If you can’t be with your mom on Mother’s Day, don’t forget to call, text or video call. With today’s technology, the ability to connect with loved ones is right at your fingertips. It will mean a lot for them to know you were thinking about them on Mother’s Day.
