It is with great sadness that Kings Island mourns the loss of its manager of rides maintenance, Tom Dillingham, who passed away Thursday at the age of 61.

Dillingham, who began a 44-year career at Kings Island in 1976, oversaw a crew of about 50 mechanics, carpenters and welders who conduct year-round testing and maintenance of all of the park’s rides and attractions.

What Tom meant to the park is immeasurable. It was truly a blessing to have had him as a member of the Kings Island family for so many years. The passion and commitment to Kings Island and for the safety of the park’s guests and associates leaves its mark on each of us that knew him.

The Kings Island flags at the park will be flown at half-staff through June 28 to honor Tom Dillingham and his service over the years.
