This weekend will be the last opportunity in 2019 for guests to enjoy the stunning views of the park from atop the Eiffel Tower. Our Maintenance, Operations and Technical Services teams have been busy for weeks getting Kings Island ready for WinterFest, which opens on Friday, Nov. 22.
While most of this preparation is unnoticeable, the team is turning their attention to the park’s most recognizable icon, the one-third scale replica of the Eiffel Tower located in Paris. During WinterFest, the Eiffel Tower takes center stage as it transforms into a magical Christmas Tree with nearly 50, 300-foot long strands of lights stretching from the top viewing platform to the ground below. It’s a labor of love, taking weeks to install and have up-and-running by opening night of the annual holiday tradition.
So, get your final trips of the year to the top of the tower in this weekend during Halloween Haunt, HalloTween and the Great Pumpkin Fest. Take your final pictures and videos of the Vortex and new Orion roller coaster construction. The next time you’ll be able to visit the viewing platform of the Eiffel Tower will be spring 2020.
