What a special day it was for 35 families who visited Kings Island on Saturday, May 11. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and his wife, JJ, treated them to a day of fun and memories at the amusement park during the annual King for a Day event.

Through the program, families from Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky enjoyed the day at Kings Island. They also received Fast Lane passes, lunch with the Daltons, soft drink wristbands and special King for a Day t-shirts.

The event at Kings Island is something the Daltons look forward to every year.

“JJ and I enjoyed spending the day with these families as they created lasting memories together,” said Andy Dalton. “We wanted them to have the chance to put their challenges aside for a few hours and simply focus on having fun.”

The Andy & JJ Dalton Foundation works to provide opportunities, support and resources to seriously ill and physically challenged children and their families. If you would like to learn more about the Andy & JJ Dalton Foundation, or would like to make a donation, please visit www.andydalton.org.

Remembering the Enchanted Voyage

One of the main ingredients in the creation of Kings Island was the theming opportunities offered by Hanna-Barbera. Taft Broadcasting (owners of Hanna-Barbera Studios and financial backers of Kings Island) knew they wanted to heavily showcase their characters in the new park. The Cincinnati Coney Island executives knew that successful parks had highly popular indoor dark rides. So, together they decided that Kings Island would have an elaborate dark ride that would feature a Hanna-Barbera cast.
