One of the authentic tastes garnering rave reviews during the opening weekend of Grand Carnivale is the Bier Käse Spätzle. This dish consisting of bavarian noodles, tossed in a creamy beer cheese sauce topped with crispy onions can be found in the Germany area on International Street during the celebration.
Bier Käse Spätzl is a staple of German home cooking and said to hit the spot after a long day of skiing. It looks like it would be satisfying after a day of riding roller coasters at Kings Island, too! I'm going to find out by trying this cheesy casserole during Grand Carnivale.
Purchase a Grand Carnivale Food Tasting card at any Food & Beverage tent and enjoy six (6) food tastings of your choice! For those with a smaller appetite, all of the Grand Carnivale food offerings are available for purchase a-la-carte.
Grand Carnivale begins at 5 p.m. each day through July 7.
