Kings Island to live stream 2020 announcement

Can’t make it to Kings Island for the 2020 announcement on Thursday night? Tune in to the Kings Island blog for the live stream of the biggest announcement in the park’s 47-year history.

The live stream will start at 10 p.m. ET Thursday night.

The 2020 announcement will also be featured Thursday night on Kings Island’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels.

Construction activity begins at Kings Mills Antique Autos ride site

Construction crews have been at the planned location of the new Kings Mills Antique Autos this week, prepping the site for the return of the classic and nostalgic antique car ride opening spring 2019. The Peach Basket has been one of the most popular games at Kings Island for parts of four decades. This Labor Day weekend is the last chance our guests will have an opportunity to play the game at its long time location in Coney Mall across from Juke Box Diner and near the Vortex entrance. The Peach Basket stand will be removed next week when construction begins on the new Kings Mills Antique Autos.

This Day in Kings Island History: Vertical construction on Mystic Timbers began

Two years ago today (Aug. 29, 2016), vertical construction on the Mystic Timbers roller coaster began with the placement of the first set of bents. By the time workmen completed construction on the 3,265-foot long ride, they used 330,00 board feet of southern yellow lumber; 30,000 pounds of nails; 88,000 bolts and washers and 5,500 cubic yards of concrete for the foundation.

Cincinnati  Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton spent several hours on his off day Sunday giving high-fives, signing autographs and posing for photographs for children at Kings Island. Dalton and his wife, Jj, have hosted the “King for a Day” event at Kings Island for the past five years. The event is one of several put on by the Andy and Andy Dalton Foundation, which helps families in the Greater Cincinnati area with children who are ill or have special needs.
