Ten hours after introducing its tallest, fastest and longest steel roller coaster in front of thousands of park guests and news media, Kings Island received the first delivery of parts for Orion with pieces for the transfer table.

Later in the day, the first track piece was delivered.

Riders on Orion will plummet down an exhilarating 300-foot first drop, sending them on a high-speed journey over seven more hills and 5,321 feet of track at speeds up to 91 mph.

Construction crews are expected to begin erecting the ride in early September.

Orion will open spring 2020.
