It feels like we’ve finally gotten to the best part of a good book. Opening Day arrived, guests got to ride Kings Mills Antique Autos, celebrate The Beast turning forty and of course try some of the delicious food over at Miami River Brewhouse. Unfortunately, due to the weather, I wasn’t able to get a ton of pictures. Rest assured, the next blog will feature a lot more.
While I was helping with the media preview, I got the privilege to ride the new Antique Autos cars and it was really something. Motoring along the track and just taking in the view of the different billboards, which feature different rides from the past and pausing to look at the detail to the oils cans in the windows at the gas station and just enjoying the breeze in my face, I already know that guests are going to fall in love with this classic ride.
I can also certainly attest to the amazing food that Chef James Majors has come up with for the Miami River Brewhouse. I actually got to share a BBLT and tater tots with Jeff Gramke, which was super cool. Jeff and I both agreed it’s one of the best BLTs we’ve ever had AND it’s on the Meal Plan! Speaking of food, I also have my eye on those giant pretzels, they’re about as big as my head, so definitely something to share with your family or friends before hopping on Mystic Timbers! Or eat it all by yourself, you deserve it!
I spent a majority of my time on Opening Day at The Beast giving away t-shirts, which was definitely an experience. The other part of my day was spent trying to keep warm. I will say that I saw some true dedication with all the people dressed in hats, scarves, gloves and heavy rain jackets to ride The Beast.
I’m ridiculously excited about this weekend. Why? I’ll be at the park as a guest with some family and the wait to ride The Beast will be over! With that in mind, stay tuned for next week’s “Walk in the Park at Kings Island” where I’ll be sharing all kinds of pictures and thoughts from my first trip as a guest.
