5 ways to celebrate the Fifth of July at Kings Island

Kelly Obbie

Social Media Coordinator - Kings Island

Still off of work for the holiday but not sure how to spend your day? There are lots of ways to celebrate the Fifth of July at Kings Island!

With the big thrills of Banshee, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers and The Beast and the little thrills of the world’s best kids’ area in Planet Snoopy, plus a 33-acre water park, everyone will have more than enough fun at Kings Island.

Here’s five ways for you and your family to spend a day of quality time together.

Missed the Fourth of July fireworks or can’t wait 364 days for the next show? You’re in luck! Kings Island has a fireworks show every night the park closes at 10 p.m. or later through Labor Day. The show includes dazzling fireworks, spectacular lighting effects and music that will have you singing and dancing along.

Why slave over your own hot grill when you can let a professional cook for you? Our air conditioned Coney Bar B Que restaurant offers delicious grilled food from executive chef James Major, a two-time winner of the Food Network's Chopped reality TV cooking contest and contender on Alton Brown's Cutthroat Kitchen. With smoked St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork, rotisserie chicken and Queen City Sausage, it’s a barbecue party without the hassle of mosquitos and your less-than-stellar cooking skills.

Your house may have a pool, but at Kings Island you can experience over 50 water activities, including 36 water slides. Kick back and cool off at Soak City Water Park, included with your admission. There’s something for every member of the family, including a 650,000-gallon wave pool and tons of water attractions for the little ones. Don’t forget to get a pizza and burgers for the kids and margaritas for mom and dad.

You could enjoy the thrill – and risk – of watching your uncle organize his own fireworks display, or you could hop on some of the top ranked roller coasters in the world like the legendary Beast or award-winning Mystic Timbers. There’s also four roller coasters designed specifically for children and their parents and grandparents to enjoy together.

Family time

Put away your mobile device and spend a day of quality time with your family at Kings Island. From big thrills to little thrills, there’s something for everyone. Make it a day you’ll remember for a long time. That’s any day at Kings Island.
