Since its opening in 1972, Kings Island has been a destination for families looking for things to do in Cincinnati. Here are 10 reasons to consider that make Kings Island the thing to do in Cincinnati.

1. It appeals to everyone in the family

One step inside the Kings Island front gate and onto International Street and you’ve entered a world like no other. It’s a graceful avenue dotted with lush green trees, shops and dining locations, and cooled with the breeze from sparking, majestic fountains. A one-third scale replica of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris, France serves as the backdrop for all the fun and thrills that await you.

2. It’s two major parks in one

Kings Island offers a complete entertainment package and is divided into theme areas, each with a selection of rides, activities and food. When the action in the park becomes too hot to handle, guests can cool off in Soak City, a 33-acre water park included with park admission to Kings Island. Soak City offers more than 50 fun and thrilling water activities for the whole family, from waterslides to children’s play areas.

3. It has ticket plans for every budget

Discover the best ticket packages and biggest savings online for your visit to Kings Island. Ticket options include Daily Admission, Two Day Ticket (the best value), After 4 p.m. Admission, Admission and Fast Lane and the All Inclusive Ticket, which includes admission, parking, all day dining, Fast Lane Plus, a regular souvenir drink bottle and FunPix Photo Pass.

4. It offers an award-winning kids’ area

For families with young children or even those who are simply young at heart, Planet Snoopy is the perfect thing to do. Voted “Best Kids’ Area in the World” 17 consecutive years by Amusement Today, Planet Snoopy features an elaborate collection of PEANUTS-themed family rides and attractions, including kidde rides specifically designed for children. Many of the rides in Planet Snoopy are designed for children and their parents or grandparents to enjoy together.

5. It has record-breaking and award-winning roller coasters

Kings Island is home to some of the top-ranked roller coasters in annual industry and enthusiast polls, including Mystic Timbers, voted by Amusement Today as the “Best New Ride” in 2017. The Beast, which is listed in the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records as the longest wooden roller coaster in the world at 7,359 feet, sprawls across 35 acres of densely wooded terrain at speeds up to 65 mph. Banshee sends riders screaming through seven stomach-churning inversions at speeds up to 68 mph on the world’s longest steel inverted roller coaster. Diamondback is the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Kings Island. The Vortex was the first roller coaster in the world to send rides upside down through six inversions when it debuted in 1987. Other adrenaline rush activities include Adveture Express, Backlot Stunt Coaster, Bat, The Racer, Flight of Fear, Firehawk and Invertigo. There’s also four roller coasters designed specifically for children and their grandparents to enjoy together.

6. Live entertainment

The fun and thrills don’t end with the rides. Kings Island’s live entertainment is amazing too! From high-energy music revues to dazzling cirque, country, pop, rock and character shows, the park’s live entertainment offers something to do that everyone in the family will enjoy during their visit.

7. The kids (and parents and grandparents) can meet their favorite PEANUTS characters

The characters at Kings Island are another reason for its popularity. Families can attend performances of their favorite characters and meet up close Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus Van Pelt, Lucy Van Pelt, Sally Brown, Schroeder, Franklin, Peppermint Patty and Woodstock in Planet Snoopy. The PEANUTS Gang even show up for lunch in the Festhaus.

8. It’s easily accessible, right in the middle of where you are

You can travel to Kings Island with relative ease with access to the park by Interstates 71 and 75. Kings Island is located within two hours of Columbus, Indianapolis, Lexington and Louisville, three hours from West Virginia, and within five hours of Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

9. Fireworks

Throughout the spring and summer, there’s the International Street Light and Fireworks Spectacular on nights Kings Island closes at 10 p.m. or later. This is a fantastic day to cap off a fun and memorable day at the park.

10. Always more to discover

No matter how many times families head to Kings Island there are always things to do that they have not seen or experienced.
