A year before “The Brady Bunch”, another TV family visited Kings Island with 'The Partridge Family” filming episode No. 66 of their popular prime-time ABC show over a five-day span at the park August 7-11, 1972.
The episode called "I Left My Heart in Cincinnati," with former Cincinnati Reds great and National Baseball Hall of Fame member cast Johnny Bench as a waiter, premiered 45 years ago on this date, January 26, 1973, on ABC.
During the episode, the Partridge Family actors were shown enjoying rides like the Racer, Grand Carousel, Monster and Race for Your Life Charlie Brown (then known as the Kings Mills Log Flume). These scenes and more from the episode can be seen in the 2-1/2 minute clip below set to the song “Together We’re Better.”
The Partridge Family episode is a fun look back at Kings Island’s first season in 1972. The episode is still shown in syndication today, and available on DVD. It's must-see TV for all Kings Island fans.
