Here's a sure sign that summer is just around the corner: Today, Kings Island begins daily operation for the 2017 season.

Kings Island will be open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays through Thursday through May 25.

Operating hours vary for the rest of the summer beginning Memorial Day weekend. The park’s operating calendar is available online.

New this year is Mystic Timbers, a 109-foot-tall wooden roller coaster that traverses 16 airtime hills through wooded terrain and over water along a 3,265-foot-long track at 53 mph with an intriguing mystery for riders: What’s in the shed?

Soak City Water Park will open May 27.

Gold season passes are available through May 29 for as low as six payments of $18 online. Passes include unlimited visits to Kings Island and Soak City Water Park, free season-long parking, early ride time on select attractions, exclusive events and free admission to Halloween Haunt and WinterFest.
