Kings Island Photo of the Day

In this photo, Susan Olsen glances at the cameraman during the filming of a Brady Bunch episode, "The Cincinnati Kids", August 24, 1973 at Kings Island.  It wasn't Hollywood, but the park looked like the next best thing as whistles blew, lights went up and cameras started rolling, filming the eighth episode in the fifth season of the show.

Hundreds of fans stood for hours waiting to catch a glimpse of the stars.  Robert Reed, who played the father of the Brady Bunch, and Brady Bunch stars Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen greeted fans freely during the week of filming, and were occasionally escorted outside the ropes by security guards to enjoy some of the rides.

Meanwhile, female stars Florence Henderson, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb and Ann B. Davis chose to stay close to the dressing room vans on the set during breaks from filming.

Love the episode, wish I had been there when they filmed. Would have loved to seen that. Also remember The Partridge family filming there.

The Brady Bunch King's Island episode is certainly a classic. I always watch it whenever it is on. It is always so much fun to see what the park looked like back then. Did I hear correctly that the film crew had some kind of trouble mounting the camera on the Racer coaster?
