Kids ready for grand adventure at Kings Island

Sunday, July 5th, 2015

Tuesday, July 7 is shaping up to be a typical day at Kings Island, filled with lots of happy children.
Park visitors might notice that some of the kids will be in wheelchairs. Some will be hooked up to oxygen, or connected to IVs. But they’ll be having fun and enjoying their day at Kings Island, just like everybody else because that day, they are just like everyone else.

A Kid Again, a nonprofit organization which exists to foster hope, happiness and healing for families raising kids with life-threatening illnesses through fun-filled group activities and events, will have its annual outing Tuesday at Kings Island. A Kid Again children and their families will enjoy park admission, picnic meal, ice cream treats, Dinosaurs Alive! and the opportunity to meet and have photos taken with some of their favorite PEANUTS characters like Charlie Brown, Linus Van Pelt, Lucy Van Pelt, Sally Brown and Snoopy. They’ll cap off a memorable day at the park with a fireworks show over the Eiffel Tower at 10:00 p.m.

Approximately 4,000 A Kid Again children and family members from Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton are expected to attend the outing, making it the organization’s largest event of the year.

As part of A Kid Again’s outing, the organization will attempt to break the world record for simultaneous self-application of temporary tattoos at 2:00 p.m. The current world record is 691 set in St. Petersburg, Russia in October 2011.
