What is Kings Island?

Kings Island is a 364-acre amusement and water park located north of Cincinnati, Ohio on I-71. The park entertains more than 3 million annual guests and for the past nine years has been awarded the prestigious Golden Ticket for the "Best Kids' Area in the World." With a variety of entertainment for all ages, Kings Island offers more than 80 state-of-the-art rides, shows and attractions, including 14 thrill-inducing and world-record holding roller coasters, a 15-acre water park, fun-filled musical productions, games of skill, and an assortment of dining facilities, snack outlets and shops. There's something for everyone at Kings Island.

How do I get to Kings Island?

What happens if I lose something at the park?

All lost and found articles as well as those held by Security at the park entrance should be claimed at the Security Booth located outside the Front Gate. Unclaimed articles are donated to charity or destroyed after 14 days. Please secure all loose items before boarding a ride. Should you lose an article on a ride, please see a ride attendance for assistance.

What happens if it rains?

Some attractions may close in inclement weather until conditions permit safe operation. Please enjoy a live show, meal or shopping until such weather passes. Kings Island cannot issue rain checks or refunds for inclement weather.

May I bring my own food and beverage into Kings Island?

No outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed to be brought into Kings Island. However, special dietary needs, such as food allergies and baby food and formula are permitted.

How do I re-enter the park should I have to leave for some reason?

If you wish to leave the park and return on the same day, please have your hand stamped at the Front Gate. If you wish to leave the parking lot and re-enter, present your parking receipt to the attendant when you return.

Does Kings Island have automatic tellers (ATMs)?

There are several ATMs located throughout the park for your convenience, including near the main entrance.

What information do you have available for guests with disabilities?

Stop by Guest Services located at the Front Gate to pick up a Rider Safety Guide. This free guide explains the entry guidelines and procedures, provides specific information related to each attraction and includes an attraction boarding pass which is required for special access and accommodations.

Do you rent wheelchairs?

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis at the Front Gate.

What is the park policy on alcoholic beverages?

You must be 21 years of age to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at Kings Island. Valid State issued photo identification or valid driver's license is required upon request for each person purchasing, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any line at Kings Island.

Is smoking permitted in the park?

As we strive to accomodate all of our guests, designated smoking areas have been established throughout Kings Island. Please refer to our park map for specific locations during your visit, or ask any park associate for locations of the designated smoking areas. Smoking is not permitted in any theater, ride or waiting area.

What forms of payment does Kings Island accept?

Kings Island accepts cash, credit or debit cards from American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. A valid driver's license must be presented when using a credit card for purchases at the park.

Are pets permitted at Kings Island?

Only guide dogs and service animals are permitted in the park. Your pet may be left at the Kings Island Pet Care Center located outside the Front Gate during park operating hours. A $20 fee is required.

Is there a place to store my belongings inside the park?

Lockers are available for rent at the Front Gate, across from the Festhaus in Oktoberfest, near the Crypt in Rivertown, Firehawk in Coney Mall and in Boomerang Bay.

What kind of dining experiences does Kings Island offer?

Guests can enjoy regional favorites and name-brand choices like Skyline Chili, LaRosa's Pizza, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Cinnabon, Graeters Ice Cream and Starbucks. There's also traditional amusement park favorites such as hamburgers, hotdogs, deli sandwiches, and fried fish and shrimp, BBQ chicken and ribs and smoked turkey legs. Kings Island is also famous for its blue ice cream!

Is there lodging available on Kings Island's grounds?

The Great Wolf Lodge is the official resort of Kings Island. This is the only lodging available on the park's grounds.

What does my Kings Island admission ticket include?

Your admission to Kings Island includes all rides, live shows and attractions, including Boomerang Bay. Your admission ticket does not include three paid attractions (Sling Shot, Thunder Alley and Xtreme Flyer) or events which require a separate admission.

How much is parking?

Kings Island offers regular parking (all vehicles) for $10 and preferred parking for $15.

What is the difference between Platinum, Gold and Regular season passes?

A Platinum season pass allows unlimited admission to Kings Island, Boomerang Bay and all Cedar Fair amusement and water parks during 2010 public operating days, as well as free parking. A Gold season pass allows unlimited admission to Kings Island and Boomerang Bay during 2010 public operating days, as well as free parking and other VIP benefits such as early admission to Boomerang Bay, early ride times, discounts on meals and merchandise, and other advantages. A Regular season pass allows unlimited admission to Kings Island and Boomerang Bay during 2010 public operating days, without the special VIP benefits that Gold passholders receive.

Can I upgrade my admission to a season pass?

Guests can receive full credit on their admission towards the purchase of a season pass. Stop by any ticket window at the Front Gate for details.

What happens if I lost or forgot my season pass?

If you forget to bring your season pass, please proceed to the Will Call window located at the Front Gate. A nominal processing fee will be assessed if you lose your season pass.

What is an e-ticket?

E-tickets let you purchase and print your tickets from the convenience of home. This option allows you to bypass having to wait in line at the ticket windows when you arrive at the park. With an e-ticket, you simply proceed to the Front Gate.

What should I do if I can't print my online tickets?

No need to panic. You can have your tickets printed for you at Will Call. You will need the credit card you used to purchase the e-ticket and your confirmation number.

Does Kings Island offer a discount on admission for groups?

Yes, groups of 15 or more are eligible for a group discount.

Is there a discount for senior citizens?

Kings Island offers a discount for seniors and juniors on both general admission tickets and season passes.

Do you offer military discounts?

Kings Island is pleased to offer a discount to military members who present an I.D. at the admissions window.

Do you offer a non-rider ticket discount?

Kings Island does not offer a non-rider discount. Kings Island has a one-price admission as it is a multi-faceted park, not just a ride park. Live entertainment abounds at the park wtih six fun-filled shows and roving characters and performers. The park also offers a variety of gift shops, restaurants, a 15-acre water park and much more.

Is there a dress code at Kings Island?

Shirts, shorts/pants and shoes must be worn at all times. Proper swimming attire for Boomerang Bay is defined as one or two-piece swim suits without abrasive buttons, rivets, zippers or snaps.
